My Story
My journey as an endurance athlete is one about inspiration.
It all started when I moved to Taiwan in 2013 for work. One day, I found myself struggling to keep up with this physically challenged older man through the mountain and jungle trails. That was when inspiration struck me for the first time and I thought to myself, “Someday I want to be able to do that”. This man became my friend, along with many other like-minded runners, and they turned my life around. My social life immersed into my training and it becomes so much more enjoyable with friends, even when the training got tough. I completed my first ever 17km trail running race at the age of 34 (never too late hey!) and at that point I thought that was extremely challenging. Something in me craved for more though, and within a year I finished my first 50km ultra-distance trail race, as well as my first Olympic Distance triathlon. |
Yes, I was hooked!
I moved to Singapore at the end of 2016 and that’s when I decided to take triathlons to a competitive level under the guidance of Cos Coaching (@COS Coaching). The journey has been nothing short of amazing. and I’ve completed a few Ironman races (3.8km swim + 180km bike + 42.195km run), as well as qualified twice for the Ironman World-Championship in Kona. All these wouldn’t have been possible if I’ve not been inspired again and again by people around me. Inspiration is everywhere! My advice, choose to see it, choose to pause in that moment and soak it in. Hence, my aim is to Pass It Forward – to inspire others as I’ve been inspired, by sharing my knowledge on training, nutrition and "beyond training", let's call it... lifestyle. Thank you for letting me be part of your journey! |
